Day 5: A Mini Celebration
Canon EOS R5 | Canon RF100mm F2.8 L MACRO IS USM
1/100 sec | f/2.8 | 640 ISO
Why did I take this photo?
This tiny bottle is part of a charm bracelet that belonged to my step-mother. I photographed a variety of the charms representing her life, but the wine bottle stood out to me. She loved a glass of wine in the afternoon, often sipping it while sitting outside on her patio by the lake of her Florida home and chatting with neighbors. But, the reason it struck a chord with me today is that it could also represent a champagne bottle, and we just got news that there may be something big to celebrate soon. Keeping my fingers crossed!! (No... no one is pregnant.)
How was this photo taken?
This photo was taken handheld with mixed indoor lighting that created challenging shadows.
Did I learn anything? Would I do anything different next time?
Even with all the lights turned on, the scene was still pretty dark and required a lot of editing in post-production. Shadows and color casts were challenging. This macro lens is a light hog!
This is day 5 of 100 of The 100 Day Project, in which I commit to take and post a new photo from with my camera (not cellphone) every day. Follow my creative journey on via blog or Instagram.
